MANCHESTER UNITED HIT BY CYBER ATTACK

20-time English Premier League Champions, Manchester United, were hit by a cyber attack on Friday, 20 November, 2020. The club confirmed this in an official statement released on their website.

"Manchester United can confirm that the club has experienced a cyber attack on our systems. The club has taken swift action to contain the attack and is currently working with expert advisers to investigate the incident and minimise the ongoing IT disruption." the club stated.

The club went ahead to state that their "extensive protocols and procedures" identified and shut down the attack, and that official media channels (including club website and mobile app) were unaffected. There is no evidence of personal data breach.

Manchester United play West Bromwich Albion by 21:00 on Saturday, 21 November 2020.
